Lanny Lutz will lead a vocal projection class at 11 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Oak Park Arms retirement community, 408 S. Oak Park Ave.
The class will begin with breathing exercises and tension release in the upper body, head and neck. Vocal exercises will follow, covering all the vowel sounds.
After warm ups, specific lines from plays and poems will be read individually and together. Following the training initiated in the class, participants will be able to work and develop their vocal skills on their own. In addition, worksheets to be taken home for further practice will be distributed.
The vocal exercises and techniques presented by Lutz are based on 48 years of professional stage acting throughout the United States and in London. In addition, he has spent two years in intensive voice study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art with Robert Palmer, a highly renowned vocal coach to many of Britain’s finest stage actors.
