In response to the growing concern about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), leadership at the Oak Park Arms has made the decision to prohibit the public from all activities and events. Such events will take place but are limited to residents only. We look forward to welcoming the public into Oak Park Arms events and activities again very soon.
The Monday Night Concert Series presents pianist Jeremy Kahn at 7 p.m. Monday, March 30, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. In solo, Kahn will perform a free concert for residents and the public.
An Oak Park resident, Kahn will play unique arrangements of jazz standards and the Great American Songbook.
Born near Chicago, Kahn earned a bachelor’s degree in Music from Boston’s New England Conservatory. He lived in New York City for 12 years, and now he and his family live in Oak Park. He’s played with Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Joni Mitchell, Phil Woods, Charlie Haden, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Cook and Alvin and the Chipmunks.
“Although I am mainly a jazz pianist, having played in jazz-type venues around the world,” Kahn said. “I also play on recordings that motivate you to consume your favorite products, and I also play in pit orchestras for some of your favorite theatrical extravaganzas.”
The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides senior housing in the form of senior independent living and assisted living apartments. Additional services include respite care and an award-winning adult day care program. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
Typically the event is free and open to the public. Currently this event is limited to residents only. For more information call 708-386-4040.
