A fall “Harvest Ballroom Dance” with live music by the Freenotes big band will take place from 2 – 4 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. The public is warmly welcome to attend and enjoy the event.
Music is by the Freenotes, an 18-piece orchestra that plays music from 1940s through the 1960s. The Freenotes originated more than 30 years ago, and the band has been growing ever since. Today’s 18 members range in age from 30 to 70. They perform in blue blazers with red ties.
“We have a repertoire of several hundred songs, all very danceable,” said Ron Chocola, Freenotes manager and trumpet player, “We play at dances, parties and concerts and now at the Oak Park Arms.”
The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides senior housing in the form of independent living and assisted living apartments. Additional services include respite care and an adult day care program. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
The dance is free and open to the public, but reservations are requested. For more information call 708-386-4040.
