Beyond Age – Oak Park Arms Residents Take the Runway for Fall Fashion Show

Our amazing residents and staff strutted their stuff on the runway at our Fall Fashion Show on Friday, October 18, in the ballroom of Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Avenue. Models were Oak Park Arms’ residents, kitchen staff, and other staff members.

“This event was a huge success, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came out to support us,” said Camille Gallo, the Oak Park Arms intern who originated and planned the show. “We focus on decreasing ageism which I believe this show accomplished.”

Fashions were from the Brown Elephant Resale Shop located at 217 Harrison Street, Oak Park. With three locations across Chicago, Brown Elephant Resale Shops are the source for fashionable finds, vintage clothing, and home décor. All proceeds of the Brown Elephant Resale Shop fund care for the uninsured and under-insured at Howard Brown Health.

Oak Park Arms Senior Living is a rental retirement community that provides senior housing in the form of independent living. A licensed home care agency is onsite to provide support services for seniors. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month, or longer.
