The Monday Night Concert at the Oak Park Arms features an evening of jazz standards by guitarist Rob Curtis at 7 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Avenue.
Rob Curtis is a 30 year veteran of music performance and has toured extensively throughout the US, Canada and the Caribbean. He has many happy clients in the Chicago area such as R. R. Donnelly, Chicago Health Clubs and Book Covers Inc. He was a member of the Galena Chamber Ensemble and is currently performing with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.
He has an associate arts degree, a bachelor’s degree in Music from Sierra Nevada College, and a master’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
Curtis served as staff guitarist at the Sahara Club in Lake Tahoe backing acts like the Pointer Sisters, Smokey Robinson and Little Richard. He is in high demand as a side-man with the Pump Room Orchestra, Bradley Young Orchestra, and the Brian Pattie Orchestra.
He’s also a big time blue grasser. Banjo, mandolin and big dreadnaughts.
