Senior citizens were dancing up a storm at the 36th annual Seniors’ Senior Prom titled, “A Garden Party,”Friday, June 12, at the Oak Park Arms Retirement Community, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. The Freenotes, an 18-piece orchestra, provided music from the Big Band era.
A highlight of the prom was the crowning of the 2015 king and queen who are elected by the residents. The 2015 prom Queen is Nancy Thornton and King is Bill Timm.
“Our prom was a tremendous hit this year,” said Heather Lindstrom, director of marketing. “We had hundreds of seniors in our ballroom here at the Oak Park Arms. Everyone was happy and dancing the night away.”
