The Monday Night Concert Series continues with singer Petra van Nuis and pianist Larry Harris at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. The duo will perform songs of love in honor of Valentine’s Day.
Van Nuis and Harris will romance the audience with the timeless music of the Great American Songbook.
The pair shares a unique musical connection. Their shared aesthetic was immediately evident in their first meeting at a gig in 2007, and they have been making beautiful music together ever since.
They both have a passion for fantastic tunes, both well-worn and obscure. They strive to communicate that passion in an honest, straightforward way where the lyric reigns supreme.
Van Nuis and Harris play at all the top Chicago jazz venues, including the Jazz Showcase, the Green Mill, Katerina’s, Fitzgerald’s and Andy’s.
