Jazz historian’s Steinway piano donated to Oak Park Arms
John Steiner’s Steinway grand piano has been donated to the Oak Park Arms Senior Living by resident Betsy Davis. Steiner was the world’s foremost authority on early Chicago jazz. He built an exceptional personal collection of approximately 35,000 recordings, sheet music, and newspaper articles. Today, his collection is housed in the Chicago Jazz Archive of the University of Chicago Library.

41st Seniors’ Senior Prom – Friday, June 16
Senior citizens danced the night away at the 41st Seniors’ Senior Prom on Friday, June 16, at the Oak Park Arms. The prom was an annual tradition for 40 years before being cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A highlight of the event was the crowning of the 2023 king and queen – Don Sundstrom and Marge Schwarz.
